The Number of Questions
The California Law and Ethics Exam contains 75 questions, 25 of which are experimental, and do not count towards your final score.
Upon completion of the Law and Ethics Exam, candidates will receive a pass or fail. Candidates who have failed will receive a score report that includes a numeric score and other diagnostic information. Passing scores will vary by exam cycle and the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) does not release information about what score is required to pass.
Test-takers who answer 70% of the questions correctly have a good chance at receiving a passing score.
